In the late 1970s, Nicholas Hammond donned the iconic red and blue suit to become the first live-action Spider-Man in the short-lived TV series ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’. While the show had its flaws, Hammond’s performance as Peter Parker was widely praised, even if the writers failed to capture the character’s essence.

One of the main challenges the show faced was the visual effects limitations of the era.
