The final trailer for the Star Wars series The Acolyte has been released, teasing a terrifying Sith Lord villain. ‘The Acolyte’ Final Trailer Unveils Mysterious Sith Lord Villain
While the character remains unnamed, showrunner Leslye Headland teased to StarWars.com, “I’ll just say that they’re my favorite character.” The trailer also showcases new key art for the series, building anticipation for the show’s launch.
Headland explained her creative direction for The Acolyte, aiming to portray the Jedi as “the institution” during the height of their power in the High Republic Era. She noted her interest in exploring a time when Sith sightings were rare, saying, “Like it’s a thing I’ve heard of, but it’s not a thing that you would ever consider you’d be interacting with.”

Showrunner Compares ‘The Acolyte’ to ‘Russian Doll’
According to CBR, Headland compared The Acolyte’s mystery elements to the series Russian Doll, saying, “It’s similar to Russian Doll, which was really about giving the audience information episode by episode, this spiral of storytelling.” She teased that the show will continuously surprise viewers with unexpected twists and turns.
The official logline for The Acolyte reads,
“An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past. As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems…”
