During an exclusive interview with The Direct, co-director Joshua Wassung addressed this point directly. He stated:
“They do not have the ability to time travel.”

Wassung clarified that the characters seen in the film’s final act were not transported through time via advanced technology. Instead, they were subjected to cryogenic freezing. This explains how a World War II fighter pilot, a ninja from feudal Japan, and a more contemporary warrior could all appear simultaneously in the film’s futuristic setting.
As Wassung explained:
“Each of [the survivors], and you can see when you watch the movie, [they are] frozen. So, these characters are frozen in storage. They’re on ice, and they’re, in some cases, hundreds, if not over 1,000 years. And then it just happens to be on this day they were selected, and then they were opened up and thrown into it right now.”
This confirmation aligns with established franchise lore. While Predators exhibit advanced spacefaring capabilities and possess technology far beyond that of humanity, time travel is not part of their arsenal. Their repeated appearances across historical eras are better explained by their long lifespans, advanced preservation methods, and strategic deployment rather than actual manipulation of time.

Is a Predator Killer of Killers Sequel Being Planned?
The ending of Predator Killer of Killers leaves the door open for further adventures. Two of the film’s central characters—the WWII fighter pilot and the wounded ninja—escape in a Predator spaceship, suggesting that their story could continue in a future installment.
When asked about the possibility of a sequel, Wassung acknowledged that there is considerable interest among the team to explore additional narratives:
“We all fell in love with the characters. I fell in love with these characters so much. We’d love to imagine what happens to these characters next.”
Beyond following the current survivors, Wassung also mentioned the creative team’s interest in exploring other historical eras within the Predator universe. However, any concrete development on a sequel appears to be on hold for now.
One major factor influencing the timeline for any sequel is the ongoing production of Predator: Badlands. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, Predator: Badlands is described as a major project within the franchise.

According to Wassung:
“‘Predator: Badlands’ is a huge movie. It’s a huge movie. So Dan [Trachtenberg] is like, I mean, he’s working, toiling away. I can tell you, he was at the screening and literally went back to work… he’s got so much work to do on that, we just really only need to give him just a minute to finish that film.”
As it stands, while the creative team remains enthusiastic about revisiting the world of Predator Killer of Killers, official discussions regarding a sequel will likely take place after Predator: Badlands is completed.
