In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine, Ryan Gosling candidly shared his perspective on choosing roles that align with his family’s best interests.

“I don’t really take roles that are going to put me in some kind of dark place,” he stated. “This moment is what I feel like trying to read the room at home and feel like what is going to be best for all of us.”

Gosling emphasized that the decisions he makes regarding his career are carefully considered with Eva and their family in mind first. This thoughtful approach reflects his dedication to creating a nurturing environment for his loved ones.

Gosling’s recent projects, such as the highly anticipated comedy Barbie and the action romance The Fall Guy, seem to align with his newfound approach. He acknowledged that La La Land marked a turning point in his career, where he began to gravitate towards roles that would be enjoyable for his family as well.

“It was just sort of like, ‘Oh, this will be fun for them, too, because even though they’re not coming to set, we’re practicing piano every day or we’re dancing or we’re singing,'” Gosling explained, highlighting the shared experience of preparing for the musical film.
