According to Deadline, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his series The Night Manager, Tom Hiddleston was asked about the future of his iconic Marvel character, Loki. His response was uncertain, stating, “I don’t know. I really don’t know.”
Kimmel pointed out Marvel’s tendency to keep things closely guarded, suggesting Hiddleston might be keeping details under wraps. However, the actor seemed genuine in his ambiguity, saying, “I know that we’ve reached some sort of narrative conclusion with season 2, which feels very satisfying to me.”
Loki’s Redemptive Journey from Villain to Hero Hiddleston expressed his perspective on Loki’s character development, stating that he doesn’t view the character as a villain. Instead, Loki “once upon a time was making some misguided choices” but ultimately made “slightly more generous, loving and heroic choices.” This redemptive arc has been a central theme throughout Loki’s appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, culminating in the recent Disney+ series.
Reflecting on his 14-year tenure as Loki, Hiddleston acknowledged the profound impact the role has had on his career. “Every time someone says that, it kind of blows my mind,” he said, adding, “playing Loki changed the course of my life completely.” The character’s enduring popularity and Hiddleston’s nuanced portrayal have cemented Loki as a fan favorite within the Marvel universe.
